Creativity  ” is the process of having original ideas that value.” claims Sir Ken Robinson. This expert in education maintains that schools kill creativity because we’ve been educated to become good workers, rather than creative thinkers.

Students with restless minds and bodies -far from being cultivated for their energy and curiosity – are ignored or even stigmatized, with terrible consequences. “We are educating people out of their creativity,” says Robinson in an entertaining TED talk with more than 15 million views.


After several years focusing on the sciences, the Obama administration is now investing in arts education on the basis, as research has shown,  that the arts help children do better in all subjects and improve the likelihood that they will stay in school longer.

In one of the Pilot Schools in Boston,  the results have been dramatic. In just three years the students at the once-troubled school have improved their basic academic skills and many say the arts have changed their lives.
