A world of words

Swing along

“Jazz is the music of freedom”. That’s how Irina Bokova, Unesco Director  General, described this type of music while presenting  April 30th  as the International Jazz Day.

The aim of this celebration is highlighting its virtues as an educational tool, as a vehicle for peace, unity, dialogue, and for enhanced cooperation between peoples.

  • Do you like jazz?
  • Have you ever listened to this music?
  • How would you describe it?
  • Do you think this type of music is for old people?
  • Can you name any jazz artists?
  • Do you know any jazz songs?
  • Which instruments can you usually see in a jazz concert?

Listen to the video and find out what jazz is for each artist.

One of my favourites.
