The Shamrock , the symbol of Ireland, is said to have been used by Saint Patrick to illustrate the Christian doctrine of the Trinity  when he first arrived in Ireland in the 5th century.

On St. Patrick’s Day, the  Irish national holiday celebrated worldwide with parades and parties, it’s traditional to wear something green and shamrock.
