English around us

A world of words

no pantsA trick that is intended to be funny but not to cause harm or damage.

Last Sunday tens of thousands of people took off their pants on subways in 60 cities in 25 countries around the world.

It was the 12th Annual No Pants Subway Ride , an event staged by Improv Everywhere  in which passengers wearing winter coats, scarves, gloves but no pants board a subway car behaving as if they don’t know each other.

  • Would you take part in one of these events? Why or why not?
  • Why do you think people like participating?
  • What would you do if you entered a room full of people without pants?
