To open your mouth wide and breathe in deeply through it, usually because you are tired or bored.

We all know that this reflex is clearly contagious, and some recent studies claim that contagious yawning is related to empathic capacity, finding that the rate of contagion is greatest to kin, then friends, then acquaintances, and lastly strangers.
