Containerize

To put goods into a container or containers for transport, or to make a port, ship, etc. suitable for this method of transport.

Sometimes a single unlikely idea can have massive impact across the world. Sir Harold Evans, the author of They Made America, describes how frustration drove Malcom McLean, a small-town truck driver, to invent the shipping container.

In April 1956 , the first of these converted ships sailed from New York to Houston.Containerization was born, and transformed the modern global economy. (TEDEducation)
