The Protester

Last week thousands of Egyptians returned to Tahir Square to celebrate the first anniversary of their uprising against Mubarak. In 2011 we witnessed huge protests which took place from Tunis, Cairo, Syria, and other Middle East countries (called Arab spring) , to Madrid (known as Spanish revolution) , Athens , London or  New York (Occupy Wall Street). Although the supporters of these movements mobilized for different reasons, the mere fact of seeing so many ordinary people with a common purpose to take to the streets was compelling , inspiring and impressive for so many others that The Protester was chosen as the Person of the Year  by  Time Magazine and as the last 2011 cover  by EPS.
